At South West Powder Coating, we pride ourselves on a job well done and are now eager to bring colour into your home.
But the advantage of powder coating is not only in making your fixtures pretty but also in improving their longevity, with the cured finish offering protection against corrosion, scratches and nicks. Perfect for indoor and outdoor items, especially in a country as wet as our’s.
The benefits of powder coating go beyond its durability as with a non-toxic finish, it is the perfect solution for homes with young children or pets.
But how does powder coating work? What is the process?
We start by preparing your items for painting by wiping their surface down to remove dirt or dust and then heating it inside an oven to remove any oils. Once the item has cooled down, a low voltage cable is attached to run a charge through the item, as the static electricity is how the paint adheres to the product.
Once painted this way, a method that removes the need for toxic solvents from the process entirely, the item is baked inside an oven to form a smooth finish that is not only non-toxic but also long lasting, durable, rust resistant and heat resistant.
We recently painted an off the shelf radiator for a customer, turning it from a conventional white to a sleek and modern grey.
